June 1-4 G & I headed out for an adult Disneyland trip with out the kids!
Laurie & Kayleen watched the kids for us & the girls had a ton of fun baking & doing science projects (bonus of having a grandma that is a science teacher) while we were gone.
The first night we checked into our hotel (Marriott Spring Hill Suites) & then walked to downtown Disney for dinner at the Louisiana Kitchen. The food wasn't as good as usual but we tried the powered sugared beignets for the first time & they were to DIE for!! On our way back to the hotel we paused for a store front Star Wars pic for Mya.
We got 2 day park hopper tickets. We got there as soon as the park opened both days & pretty much walked onto everything. If we couldn't walk on we'd get a fast pass. Our rule was waiting no more than 20 minutes for anything. Me covering my face on Splash Mtn.
The weather was pretty nice - perfect in the mornings & evenings - mid-day was a little hot but comfortable in the shade.
Our first Dole Whip. We expected it to be better since it's always hyped up but about 1/2 way through we decided it was pretty good.
We ate for the first time at the Corn Dog Castle in C.A. Adventure - my favorite meal of the trip! I didn't even think I liked corn dogs. We ended up there twice!
It was such a nice & relaxing trip. We just enjoyed being together & going on all of our favorite rides multiple times. It was our first time going on Space Mtn. since it changed to Star Wars - it was pretty cool! We also got to see the new "Frozen" musical (it had the longest line there & it took us 3 times trying to get in before we actually saw it).
We ate caramel apples (got kicked out of all the places we tried to sit & eat them) & Ghirardelli ice cream & watched parades - just perfect. One day we even went back to the hotel for a little refreshing nap. Going with the kids is more magical but just adults is waaay more relaxing!
On our last day we drove over to Laguna Beach! Such a cool beach town. We drove through the steep streets, had lunch at B.J.'s with an ocean view, did a little shopping, & checked out the beach. We will definitely be back!
Inside jokes: corn dogs & Metallica
