Christmas Recitals 2012

The girls had their Christmas Ballet Recital this last Friday night.
Carley danced to: Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy & Jingle Bells. This girl LOVES to dance! We ran into her dance teacher just a few weeks ago & as soon as Carley saw her she broke out in dance! She was so happy up on stage smiling & dancing. She did a great job & her favorite dance to perform was Jingle Bells. Even the day after she made me play Jingle Bells & watch her dance again & again!
Mya danced to: March (From Nutcracker)& Gotta Get Back by Christmas. Mya came alive during the Christmas song & just rocked it! Her form is wonderful & it's been fun to see her progress.
The lighting is horrible at this venue aka school so none of the recital pictures turned out well or the girls had creepy eyes. A family shot after. Carley got hit with a book in the head back stage so that's why she looks like she's been crying.
 First Recital together.
Wonderful Grandma Nae Nae braved the snow to make it down. The girls were SO happy. She also did their hair & helped me get them ready - thank goodness!!
Tumbling in class recital. Mya hated this class & cried everyday - mostly because she didn't like to do the bar work. She had to finish the semester & then it was her choice to continue or not. Sooo she will not be continuing but we are proud of her for sticking it out.

I just had to add this picture. Mya made & dressed herself up as Rudolph!!

Polar Express

After years of talking about it we FINALLY made it up to Williams for the Polar Express!! We missed the husbands but we were still able to have a wonderful time!! First we met in Flagstaff for an early dinner. My mom got all the kids new P.J.'s & they put them on in the parking lot. Then off we went...
 Grandma & the Grands
While waiting to board the train the kids colored & wrote Christmas lists for Santa.
 Mailing the letters.
Getting ready to board the train! These kids were so excited & silly!
 Finally on the train.
 Best cousins!
We had cookies & hot coco, sang songs, listened to the PE story, & just enjoyed the ride. The train was from 1929 & had a very cool feel to it. Mya was most excited to drink hot coco & get a bell (Mya went on the PE when she was 1 year but of course doesn't remember - so she referred to this as her first time). Carley was most excited to see Santa. This was a perfect age to take the kids. It was sooo fun!

Once we got back to my mom's house she had the house all lit up & decorated for Christmas. She had gifts under the tree for the kids to open (remote control cars & Christmas dresses). Then she built a fire & had the kids roast marshmallows & watch "Babes in Toyland" in their sleeping bags. My mom is so fun & made the night magical.

On our way to the North Pole.
Looking out at the North Pole & Santa.
Before we went home on Sunday my mom helped the kids make sugar cookies.
Dec. 7 -9 2012
Here is our Christmas tree this year. We put it up Dec. 2nd. The girls had a lot of fun getting out the decorations. We didn't get a lot of good pictures - oh well. The girls are really into their chocolate advent calendars this year esp. Mya. Carley opened one of her gifts today that was under the tree. After she had a big smile on her face & told me that I opened it & that she was really telling the truth... silly kid!

T-Day 2012

This was after school the day before Thanksgiving. What a cute little turkey!
The girls with their beards on the way to Pima for T-day. We had a blast with the McBride side. Eating, catching up, football, Denny's  & a movie. Couldn't ask for a better day trip. We also got to see the Gardea's new house that is almost finished - yay!
Friday & Saturday Gordon took the girls up to Taylor to visit his parents. Mya had fun wrestling Grandpa Coach & Carley rode the horse for the first time herself (being led).

SUNS!!

In November my dad hooked us up with tickets to a Suns game. 9 rows from the court - so awesome! We had the best time. A huge THANK YOU to Grandma Moose & Grandpa for watching the girls so we could go.

Soccer Fall 2012

Bless his heart - Gordon coached BOTH of the girls soccer teams this season. The girls LOVED every minute. Gordon is an awesome dad & a terrific coach.
The Lions
The Cheetahs - holy wow is all that can be said about this cute/crazy group. The picture pretty much sums it up.
 Coach Daddy

Mya's 6th

She wanted to decorate her own b-day cake. So I bought her a cake & frosting & she added the dog & blue trim.
6 years old! This is the morning of her b-day right before heading out to her last soccer game of the season.
Mya decided she only wanted one thing for her b-day - this mini coup car. No party, no other gifts from dad & mom. She couldn't be any happier!
These two LOVE to go for rides. The CUTEST thing ever! Mya likes to make Carley wait at a "bus stop" then she will come pick her up.
Mya asked for a pedicure - it's her first one. She said "this is so relaxing". It was nice to have some one on one with her.
She picked to go to Taco Bell for lunch & Golden Coral for dinner (blah) but the b-day girl get's what she wants.
Grandma came down for presents & cake. She always knows just what Mya likes. Her b-day wouldn't have been the same with out Granny Nae Nae!!

Grandpa & Grandma Moose came over the day after & gave her this cool bow & arrow. She practiced shooting for 2 days straight!
Mya is still as sweet as ever. Since starting school we have seen her personality change a bit & that has been   interesting to see. She has a strong desire to be good & do what's right. She still loves to draw & makes crafty things all the time examples: games, maps, books, costumes. She has a wonderful imagination. She is a great big sister. She is great at giving compliments. She can be very friendly & outgoing but she also has a reserved/thoughtful side. She is a great mix of both my & Gordon's personalities. We love her so much & are very proud of the girl she is. What a blessing to call her our daughter.

Time Out

Guess who got to go to TOFW??? It was my mom's first time & we had so much fun! We ran into the Hoopes' girls & got to go to lunch with them. After we went to see Oklahoma! at the AZ Broadway Theater. Wooo Hoooo for TiMe OuT!

Halloween 2012

Belle & the Friendly Ghost
Ready for Trick-or-Treating

Ran into our friends the Cupcake, Ghost Girl, & Robot.
We love Halloween in our neighborhood!

Kinder Halloween Party

Mya was a ghost for Halloween but her costume covered her face so she couldn't wear it to school. So she was a witch for Halloween at school. She got to march around the school with her class to show off their costumes. I got to go in & help for the class party. It was a lot of fun to see Mya & her classmates. They painted pumpkins, had a letter-walk where they won prizes, I read a Halloween book, & they had a TON of treats. FUN!

Pre-School Halloween Party

The week of Halloween our Pre-School combined with a few other pre-schools got together at the park for a little party. Carley got to wear her Belle costume, make crafts, & eat fun treats. She had so much fun that every time we pass the park she talks about her party.
Carley also started to learn to write her name at the party. She can now do it all by herself!
This was after the party. She had a little scratch on her leg & needed it iced just like dad... This girl is the queen of owies & needs lots of medical care & attention. We are working on being tough ;)
