Last week of Summer

Pet Smart & Yogurt Jungle
*The girls got dog magazines & a treat for Mikey*

Phoenix Children's Museum

The little grocery store is a favorite.

Best Sisters!

Going through the "car wash". Mya was still working on crafts.

Snake slap bracelets for all!!
We ate for the first time in the museums Cafe. It was pretty good & had several choices. Lola sat there the longest eating. We had a lot of fun!

New P.J.'s
This was a REALLY good mom day for me. We had so much fun at the museum & everyone just got along all day/no complaining/Lola was good - just everything aligned perfectly. Peace & happy all around.

Carley dressed Lola up!

Family Big Surf Trip
7/30/16
We were supposed to go with my extended family but Camille's kids got strep & had to cancel. So we decided last minute to still go. Lola had the most fun lounging in the chairs. The girls loved the wave pool & mid-sized slides. Our favorite rainbow slides were shut down so that was a bummer but we enjoyed our few hours there. I probably won't take Lola again until she's 3 or 4 - there's just not a lot for her to do. I thought she'd like the baby area more than she did. Carley went on the bigger blue/green slides for the first time & Mya went in the black hole slide. Both girls said the blue/green slides were their favorite!

Jungle Book

The big Performance night!!
7/26/16
King Louie & Kaa 1/Jungle Chorus

Carley sang in just about every song in the play. She knew all the songs & dance numbers forward & backward.

Mya worked SO hard rehearsing her part. She nailed it at both performances! She sang loud & clear & remembered all of her lines.

Carley as Kaa 1 (the head of the snake)

"Trust in Me"

King Louie

"I Wanna Be Like You"

This was Mya's first solo & she got a mic which she was thrilled about.

This play was such an awesome experience! The girls worked hard & loved every minute. Mya cried because she was so sad that it was over. The director told me multiple times that both girls were doing a great job & the girls said that the director told the other kids to ask them if they needed help. SO proud of them. Side note: we listened to the sound track so often that even Lola knows the songs & sings along in the car. The cutest is the Kaa song "Trust in Me" because there are a lot of sounds that she mimics like ooo ahhhhh sssss.

Aunt Kaylene came to watch.

Proud parents.

Coach & Nana came!!

Father & son per show pic.

We were so happy that the Palmer's came. We had an adult only dinner beforehand a Red Robin & then watched the shows. Lola had a sitter :) It was a wonderful & exciting night!!

Pioneer Snowflake/Taylor Trip

To say Lola loved riding this toy horse & the real horses at Nana & Coach's house is an understatement!

Gordon got first place at the Pioneer 10K run! Even after he went the wrong way for a while...

Grandpa Coach went down to the parade at 4:30 a.m. to set up a shade cover & save seats for the parade. Very nice!

It was an awesome parade! We were impressed & the girls got a ton of candy & otter pops! Lola enjoyed dancing to the music! Nana & Kaylene joined us & we ate delicious kettle corn. This was my favorite part of the trip!

Best seats in the house!

After the parade we met the Wiltbanks for lunch at Ava's & then we when to the craft fair & car show. We didn't stay long because it was VERY hot - but the girls got some cute prizes & we headed back to Gordon's parents house.

The girls rode horses Saturday & Sunday afternoon. Lola played outside pretty much the entire time.

Carley

Mya & Lola

Carley loves to ride & can't wait to get on.

Daddy & Carley

Mya gets a little nervous at first but really enjoys herself once she gets on.

Carley & Coach

Nana & Coach have taught the girls a lot about riding & they are getting good at it & can ride some on their own. This is such a great tradition & something special the girls will remember forever. I love that they are learning how to ride & care for the horses as well.
Note: after years of persistence from my in-laws I finally rode a horse with Lola.
On Sunday we attended my in-laws ward - the LONGEST sacrament meeting in history! I got the giggles at the end - pioneer Sunday + Old Lady speakers + an alien baby = kick yourself in the face!
We had a really nice time! One of our favorite trips to Taylor!
