Spring Recitals 2014

Spring dance recital (Spotlight Performing Arts)
Carley danced to "Takin Care of Business"

Mya danced to "Glow" (my mom & I teared up it was so beautiful) & "Live While We're Young".

Mya is such a graceful dancer & Carley puts so much expression into dance - it's so fun to watch them!

Tumbling recital. Carley does a great forward roll & has gotten much more comfortable on the trampoline.

Mya is doing a great backward roll & getting good at cartwheels.

May 2014

Horse riding for Reggie's b-day in Thatcher. It was nice that our girls were so comfortable on the horses since they've had many chances to ride at Nana & Coach's over the years.

BFF cousins!

Chimpie graduated from the Police Academy! So proud of him. I got to go down & stay the night in Prescott & attend his graduation the next day. We went to Red Robin after the ceremony.

This was a fun day! All of G's BFF's from high school all got together for Ben's b-day. Such a fun group that we don't get to see enough.

Mya pulling Carley in the wagon with the sprinklers going off.

We started swim lessons in May & June. Both girls have improved a ton.

Mya is a wonderful swimmer! A kid in her class told the teacher she should be in the Olympics! She won every race & just keeps improving. She loves to jump off the diving board & swim a long the bottom of the pool.

Carley's pre-school graduation! Such a cute & smart girl. She had a great time in school & made a lot of friends (Brighton & Harley). She is definitely ready for kindergarten!

They sang a whole bunch of cute songs & had a pizza lunch after.

Carley recited Mary had a Little Lamb.

Officially graduated from Tiny Sprouts!

Mya's end of school water party!

Fun friends! These 4 have been buds for years!

Butterfly Wonderland! We had a great time going as a family for the first time. C was a little scared & Mya loved it!

She wanted a butterfly to land on her so bad. She waited & waited & her wish came true. Then it wouldn't get off!

School just ended so we headed up to Flagstaff!

We went to the Deer Farm for the first time! It was a little overwhelming with all the deer coming up to us. But the girls had a lot of fun. I think their favorite part was playing on the fake deer & sled they had in the front.

April 2014

Carley's poster for Star of the Week!

Farm Field Trip. C loved these baby goats!

Chia Pets! Too bad they never worked... but the girls planted chia seeds in the yard & they grew like crazy!

Mya's class had to make something out of recycled materials & she came up with this dog house idea. It turned out super cute!

This picture makes me laugh! We sent it to the Gardea's trying to convenience them to come down for Easter. It worked but then we decided not to get together after all...

Mya's first piano recital!

The Solomon's hosted the recital. Mya played Winnie the Pooh, Mickey Mouse March, & Russian Folk Song (accompanied by her teacher).

Mya & her teacher Sister Drew.

Gordon & Ben ran a 1/2 marathon!

Easter was simple this year with just our little family.

Easter dresses!

Egg coloring followed by a hunt after.

Someone LOVES powered sugar doughnuts!

Mya played Spring Soccer. She & Hannah were finally on the same team. She's very competitive and aggressive - we are thinking that athleticism is one of her talents. I didn't take very many pictures because this was the first season they took professional pictures. Carley took a break this season but had tons of fun playing in the nearby park.

Disneyland 2014

We had the BEST family vacation at D-land this year. We went during Spring Break & had a blast. We stayed at a hotel that was walking distance & just did one day d-land one day CA adventure - it was perfect. Definitely our best trip there by far!

Carley was finally tall enough to ride most everything.

Toon Town was a hit! We spent a good part of the day there.

I of course just got splashed in the face with water on Splash Mountain before taking this picture.. I have the worst luck on that ride!

Little Mermaid & Soarin' are the favorite rides out of both parks.

Mya's other favorite ride was the toon town coaster. We went at night & walked on several times!

Carley rode Matterhorn for the first time - she did great - she wasn't even scared - I was a little afraid she was going to fall out of the bobsled...
It was also everyone's (except me) first time riding the Cars ride. Mya really liked it. Carley thought is was scary...

We got there early enough the first day to hang out in Downtown Disney. It was a short trip but that may have been one of the reasons why we had such a great time. The girls especially Carley LOVED the Tarzan Tree house. She would just keep running up there again & again. BTW I LOVE & dream about the caramel apples at the confection shop in DD.
