After years of talking about it we FINALLY made it up to Williams for the Polar Express!! We missed the husbands but we were still able to have a wonderful time!! First we met in Flagstaff for an early dinner. My mom got all the kids new P.J.'s & they put them on in the parking lot. Then off we went...
Grandma & the Grands
While waiting to board the train the kids colored & wrote Christmas lists for Santa.
Mailing the letters.
Getting ready to board the train! These kids were so excited & silly!
Finally on the train.
Best cousins!
We had cookies & hot coco, sang songs, listened to the PE story, & just enjoyed the ride. The train was from 1929 & had a very cool feel to it. Mya was most excited to drink hot coco & get a bell (Mya went on the PE when she was 1 year but of course doesn't remember - so she referred to this as her first time). Carley was most excited to see Santa. This was a perfect age to take the kids. It was sooo fun!
Once we got back to my mom's house she had the house all lit up & decorated for Christmas. She had gifts under the tree for the kids to open (remote control cars & Christmas dresses). Then she built a fire & had the kids roast marshmallows & watch "Babes in Toyland" in their sleeping bags. My mom is so fun & made the night magical.
On our way to the North Pole.
Looking out at the North Pole & Santa.
Before we went home on Sunday my mom helped the kids make sugar cookies.
Dec. 7 -9 2012
Here is our Christmas tree this year. We put it up Dec. 2nd. The girls had a lot of fun getting out the decorations. We didn't get a lot of good pictures - oh well. The girls are really into their chocolate advent calendars this year esp. Mya. Carley opened one of her gifts today that was under the tree. After she had a big smile on her face & told me that I opened it & that she was really telling the truth... silly kid!
